College Bible Study Class
12:00 pm – Sundays – College Room after the worship service
The UBC College Ministry Coordinator meets with students in the College Room after Sunday worship for discussion and fellowship. Bible study focuses on talking points from each Sunday’s worship scripture. You don’t need to “prepare” for class. Join us to learn about the Bible and grown in your relationship with Christ. Lunch is provided by members of the congregation.
Full and part-time students from all colleges and universities are welcome!

Mission Opportunities for Students
Prison Ministry: This ministry serves men at the Low Security Correctional Facility in Butner, NC. Volunteers are needed to provide support and encouragement through notes and letters. Contact Susan Girdler.
Chinese Scholars: Visiting Scholars from China meet at UBC for meals, fellowship, and Christian education, as well as to practice their English. This ministry needs volunteers to help set up/clean up the community room and/or visit with our Chinese guests at their weekly Friday night dinners which start at 5:45 pm. Volunteers with an interest in child care and Bible teaching are also needed. Contact Martha Peck.
Chin Families: Approximately 20 families from Myanmar (formerly Burma) are here as religious refugees. Volunteers are needed for a variety of activities that include providing assistance for: furniture, clothing (3 family donations yearly), financial and in-kind donations for Christmas and Easter. A special ministry is directed towards the Chin Children, and volunteers are needed Saturday and/or Sunday nights (7-9 pm). Contact Martha Peck or Betsy Watson (clothing).
Eye Care Team: Members of UBC and our community sometimes need a helping hand. Eye Care Team members identify these needs (food for the sick or recently hospitalized, cleaning, special projects such as food drives, etc.) and send volunteers to the rescue. All helping hands welcome! Contact Donna Brooks with assistance from Lillian Mercer.
MLK Community Room: Many groups use our MLK Community Room each week. English as a Second Language, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Chinese Church, and Chin Families. There is an ongoing effort to keep this area clean and welcoming, as well as a special event once a year on MLK Holiday when dozens of volunteers are needed for deep cleaning. Contact Martha Peck.
